Privacy policy
Retracify Weather is a free weather website. It has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, and no advertising. This page explains what is sent to the site and to the services that provide its data.
What this site receives
- The city, town, or coordinates you search for, so a forecast can be loaded.
- Standard request information that any web server receives, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of the request. Cloudflare, the hosting provider, processes this information to deliver and protect the site. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
- Your approximate coordinates, only if you choose Use my location and allow the browser prompt. The coordinates are used to look up the nearest town or city. The resulting place record is cached; coordinates are not linked to your IP address or stored in a user profile.
What this site does not do
- It does not create accounts or store personal profiles.
- It does not use cookies, local storage, or browser fingerprinting.
- It does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising scripts.
- It does not sell or share personal information.
- It does not request your location without an explicit action.
Third-party data providers
Coordinates and place names are sent from this site's server to the following providers to produce a forecast or search result. Your browser does not contact them directly.

Retention
Normalized weather responses are cached at the network edge so repeat visits do not create new provider requests. Forecasts are cached for about ten minutes and may be kept for up to a day as a fallback. Location search results are cached for about a day. Place records, including the nearest place found from the location button, are cached for about a week, and may be retained for another week as a fallback. These caches contain place names, coordinates, and weather data, not IP addresses or account details.
Rate-limit counters are kept in memory and expire within minutes. Daily provider-usage counters are stored without IP addresses and expire within a day. Hosting logs are controlled by Cloudflare's retention settings.
Your choices
You can decline the browser's location prompt and search for a city instead. You can block or clear site data in your browser at any time. Because this site does not store personal data, there is usually nothing to access, correct, or delete. Questions can be raised through the project issue tracker.
Children
This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes, such as adding analytics or advertising, will be described here before they take effect.
